Meet the Chef

My name is Carmen Samaniego, and I have been a French-trained chef for 15 years. Three years ago, I started making pizza as a hobby. We began Angelenos’ Wood Fired Pizza as a pop-up, which later evolved into a wood-fired pizza truck. Now, we have a pizzerĂ­a in Long Beach, @AngelenosPizza_. My husband Daniel and I are fully committed to serving our customers with dedication, alongside our exceptional team, whom we fondly call the “Pizza Pirates.”

Coming from a Latinx family of bakers, venturing into making wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas initially took me out of my comfort zone. However, I have always cherished every aspect of it. I invested time in extensive research, read numerous books, attended seminars, and experimented with countless techniques to achieve the perfect pizza dough.

I’m thrilled to announce that we recently won Hulu’s latest pizza competition show, #BestInDough, thanks to our outstanding dough!

If you haven’t had the opportunity to try our pizzas yet, I personally extend a warm invitation to you. Our menu features a variety of options, from Mexican-inspired pizzas to those with French-inspired sauces, ensuring there’s something for everyone because, ultimately, pizza is what brings people together!
